A Developer with Respect for the Land
"Under all lies the land" is the guiding philosophy for Koelbel. As a community developer, Koelbel and Company is ever mindful that they are a custodian of the land for a short period of time, yet have the opportunity to leave a legacy for future generations. That is why each Koelbel community is developed around distinguishing natural characteristics such as water, open space, parks, and unique landscape. At Rendezvous, Koelbel and Company has established a gathering place for generations to come—a legacy for Koelbel, but more importantly, a legacy for families like yours to call their own.

Koelbel’s Fraser Valley Connection
Creating a destination resort community at Rendezvous was a natural fit for the Koelbel team because the Koelbel family has four generations of history in the Fraser Valley. The Koelbel family previously owned nearby Byers Peak Ranch. This makes Rendezvous not just an investment project, but a labor of love. Said company president Walter A. (Buz) Koelbel, Jr. “Our underlying philosophy in everything is respect for the land,” said Koelbel, “but this principle has never felt more personal than with Rendezvous.” The Koelbel family is preserving and sharing their appreciation of Colorado’s incredible beauty and unique lifestyles by making Rendezvous an outdoor-oriented, year-round community where family and friends can have the same memorable opportunities they have enjoyed for generations.

Koebel's Commitment to the Local Community
Koelbel and Company's commitment to preserving and enhancing the Fraser
Valley's natural and historic heritage is mirrored in The Rendezvous Foundation, a not-for-profit organization established by Koelbel when work on the master-planned resort community first began. From the opening of Rendezvous' first neighborhood, Koelbel has contributed a quarter-percent from each and every home sale to fund the foundation's important work, including its support of the Grand Foundation, with a host of local charity sponsorships, and of the Grand County Historical Association, charged with preserving the Valley's historic sites such as the Cozens Ranch and Museum.
