Our Newest Homes

Within the borders of Winter Park, we are developing a further 660 acres to build new homes, creating new possibilities for more people to enjoy what we affectionately refer to as “the front porch of the Rockies”.

We could not have been more impressed with Koelbel’s level of expertise and detail leading our home build. The home was built and delivered to us exactly as planned. Every step of our process working with Koelbel Mountain Communities was a success! We had so many options to customize the finishes in our home and their team hit it out of the park delivering on every aspect of the building plans.

A Rich History

A simple ‘rendezvous’ point that grew to one of America’s #1 mountain destinations.
After a successful career as sheriff, William ’Billy’ Cozens moved with his wife Mary and family to the Fraser Valley in 1874 and took up a position as Postmaster. Subsequently, a small hotel, stage stop, and other buildings were raised shortly thereafter. The stagecoach stop and comforting amenities, plus the strategic location along the west slope of the great continental divide, made the area a major crossroads, or ‘rendezvous’ point, for travelers exploring the west.

Koelbel’s family history in the Fraser Valley dates back to 1915 when Buz Koelbel’s grandfather, Carl Norgren, came to the area. In the 1930’s Carl purchased a beloved camp frequented by his daughter after it fell on hard times, naming it Byers Peak Ranch. Milestones at the ranch include visits from President Eisenhower, President Hoover, and other dignitaries, earning the ranch its nickname, the ‘Western White House’.
